Spun up into a 2 ply fingering weight and retaining a little of its natural lanolin, it is a perfect sweater yarn and will retain its body when knit loosely into a shawl. It is spongy soft and does have a little chaff (hay) in it, the mill I use doesn't use a harsh chemical wash to dissolve it.
